St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) was established in 2005 to meet a growing need to serve individuals on the autism spectrum. Our vision is to enable persons with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives.
We achieve this by enriching their lives and that of their families through quality education, training and care, distinguished by Christian love and compassion. Today, we serve over 450 persons with autism across the lifespan through our special education school, day activity centres, and Singapore’s first residential home for persons with autism.
At SAAC, we hold our values of love, integrity, growth, honour, and teamwork very close to our hearts. We believe that everyone deserves to live a life filled with purpose and meaning, and we strive to make that a reality for our beneficiaries and their families.
We care for those in need with love and compassion, following the example of Christ.
We commit the highest moral and ethical standards in word and deed.
We increase in passion and professionalism, continuously learning and innovating.
We accord due respect and dignity to every human being as created by God.
We work together in an environment of trust, collaboration, and mutual support.
We began our journey in 2005 as an interim service in response to a need to serve a growing number of individuals with autism. Through the years, we expanded our services, including the St. Andrew’s Autism School (SAAS) and Day Activity Centres (DAC), ensuring individuals with autism get their best shots at leading dignified and meaningful lives.
In 2010, our permanent home at 1 Elliot Road was completed, and officially opened in 2011 by the then Singapore President, SR Nathan.
In his message, President Nathan noted,
It was in this same spirit that we started St. Andrew’s Adult Home (SAAH) in 2019, providing long-term care for adults with autism.
Today, we continue to grow and evolve, striving to provide quality services and support to individuals with autism and their families, ensuring that no one is left behind in Singapore’s progress.
SAAC is a service of St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital, a recipient of the Charity Transparency Award 2023.
